Visiting the farm in Sale

The farm is the place where Nat's husband, Ben, grew up. We have always wanted to visit Chris and Anne Bollen on their farm and we finally managed. It was as lovely as Ben and Nat had always described.
We spent a very relaxing weekend surrounded by everything a child drawing a picture of a farm would include....green fields, citrus trees, cows, a creek, vegetable gardens, sheds. We were also thoroughly spoilt with Anne's delicious meals, and home- made bottled preserves and condiments that she gave us as parting gifts. Chris P was able to reciprocate by helping Chris and Anne with their TV and computer setup! The 2 Chris's also had a great time playing in the outside sheds. I joined them for a ride around the paddocks where we saw all the Bollen cows - one being Chris B's pet - magnificent water holes and neatly baled hay in the shed that Ben helped his dad build. We spotted a tortoise which had just narrowly missed being run over by the 4wd and later in the evening watched a native, ring tailed possum sitting outside the dining room window waiting for ??
We had a lovely weekend experiencing what it would be like to be farmers. It's a lot of work...but as Chris B says, he is really enjoying the fruits of his labours. So were we!
