Karijini again...and on to 80 mile beach

Because we needed coverage for the royal wedding!!! (for me) we stopped at Tom Price before going to Karijini, the national park we love. The caravan park in Tom Price is a nice place to stay- lots of space and green lawn. We also had to visit the hospital as Chris developed bad pain in his foot which turned out to be an internal cyst on his joint. He was looked after by a great nurse from Thabazimbi. She said she loved Tom Price as all the iron ore mountains around the place reminded her so much of her home town back in SA. Luckily Chris's cyst has now burst so he is able to walk again without any pain which was good when we went walking to Fern Pool in Karijini. Swimming in Fern Pool is one of our favourite things to do....and getting there walking through the gorge is awe inspiring. We didn't do much driving around Karijini as we had explored it all the year before and for most of the time since leaving Exmouth the weather was grey and rainy.
After visiting Karijini we drove to 80 mile beach which is always amazing to see with its huge tides and amazing sunsets. Unfortunately there were rather too many flies and biting insects which made enjoying sitting outside rather unpleasant. We were glad to leave and head off to Broome.
