Far North Queensland

We crossed the Great Dividing Range from Millaa Millaa to Gordonvale and on through Cairns to set up home at a place called Wonga Beach - about 25kms north of Port Douglas. We were very lucky to get a place here as it is a park that grey nomads love....fishing, miles of beautiful walking beach and peace and quiet.

Oh.....the beach.

A lone coconut.

The sign at the nearby creek at Wonga Beach.

At our neighbour's caravan. She comes to Wonga Beach every weekend to her caravan.

Along the beach - mud worms.

We had an amazing evening where the "locals" in the caravan park prepared
the most delicious fish caught by the grey nomad fishermen. It was the freshest fish we
had eaten for a long time.

Newell Beach - 15km south of Wonga Beach.

From Wonga Beach we weren't far from beautiful Port Douglas. We had been to Port Douglas before and wanted to see its beauty once again.
Famous 4 Mile Beach.

An open window space that looks out to the sea. The light was too bright to get the blue ocean.

We met these 2 lovely people who took our photo and wanted us to take theirs.

Up the street.

Couldn't resist!

The main street.

Everything everywhere is so tropical.

Low tide at the boat house.

High tide while I was at the market 2 days later.

A lot of Port Douglas reminds me of Bali.....a bit cleaner and safer.......I think!

Every Sunday Port Douglas has a market...and, of course, I had to go!
Chris stayed home and relaxed.....I went off and had fun!

Ha, ha Mr Grumpy!!

We will have spent 5 lovely days at Wonga Beach - a real treat to be up in far Northern Queensland in the wet tropics.
