Visiting Nowra

We had to visit Optus, and a doctor in Nowra as I seemed to be getting an ear infection. Nowra is a fairly large, busy town on the southern coastal highlands of NSW.
We came across a really funky "urban" coffee shop right opposite the medical centre. Even the doctor recommended the coffee here. It is owned by a great guy who spent ages chatting with Chris discussing his old amplifiers and vinyl record collection. All sorts of "gatherings" seemed to take place in this warehouse space and was a most interesting place to see. We could just imagine "Tuesday Marmalade" or "The Furry Jackets" playing here! All the locals seemed to come for a coffee here where they sat outside on big rocks, or plastic crates.
It was a pity we weren't able to be there for soupnight for gypsies!
The owner also drew a very detailed map for us to follow to go and see "The No. 1 beach he had ever seen." It was just out of Nowra on the coast.
Chris's heart skipped a beat when he saw this old turntable and amplifier in perfect working order.

We did go for a drive but to get to the beach we had to drive through Australian Defence Force Land which was closed for military operations....so we saw this beach instead.....all in the Jervis Bay National Park area.

Close by I crossed this bridge over an inlet with water as red as red can be - coloured by iron oxide!

There is so much exploring that can be done on the east coast it just isn't possible to do it all in a short time.
We had to get back to Kangaroo Valley where we had left our caravan.
