After Fraser Island - Tin Can Bay and 1770

We arrived back at Tin Can Bay after our camping expedition on Fraser Island. We spent the whole of the next day repacking the caravan and the car with all our camping gear that we used as a practice for Cape York! It was a very good exercise! Tin Can Bay is a tiny fishing town on a most beautiful, peaceful day.

After our "repacking" day we headed up further north along the coast to a place we had been before - 1770. It is a small town adjacent to another small town, Agnes Waters. We had stayed at 1770 before and returned to the same caravan park - Captain Cook Holiday Village - a huge property on a rain forested property. Both 1770 and Agnes Waters are towns where people come for summer holidays or to get a boat to Lady Elliot Island for diving on the Great Barrier Reef. The beaches, bays and sunsets are stunning. It's a hard place to leave. The husband of our camping neighbour from Tas was very keen to resettle here.

This is an Apaloosa horse owned by the local doctor in Agnes Waters.
We stopped and chatted with the horse's carer.

Before we arrived at 1770 we stopped for tea at "The Tiny Tea House" which had a vast array of eclectic decorations inside and out. The tea was average, though the owner was very welcoming as it was way out on a country road.
