Crossing the Jardine River and our home up north

Waiting in line for the ferry to start running. It was opening from
4.30 to 5.00 only on the day we got there. It costs $116 for a return
ticket which includes a permit to travel around Aboriginal lands of this part
of Cape York..

A young guy's car which had just come from completing the OTT.
It had been flooded and was dripping water.

Heading south.

Heading north.

The Jardine River which can only be crossed by ferry.

The office at Loyalty Beach.
Everyone said this was the best place to stay.
After 4 days we didn't think so. The rain didn't help and we were getting
dirtier and dirtier.....there were showers which we shared with
all the other muddy campers. Our caravan was beckoning....

Our new home for the next 4 days - Loyalty Beach.

Another view.

A small beach restaurant at the end of the campground. It gets set
up for the evening and reminded me of Bali.
Sunset from our campsite.

Spot the wild horses that roamed around the campsite.

I am so happy I spotted the blue winged kookaburra.

It rained on and off for the few days we were here....so
we constructed a shelter with our biggest tarp.

Looking good!

The wind is coming...... Our sail is billowing.....Chris NOT happy!

Dazza, our Queensland friend. A fantastic guy.

Our campsite area.

A new shelter with one of our smaller tarps.
Not so happy campers managing the wet.

The edge of the campsite. Unfortunately there were a lot of sandflies
and they LOVE me.
