Old Telegraph Track - Having a go! Fruit Bat Falls and Elliot/Twin Falls

We had discussed driving the Old Telegraph Track over and over again. Chris had all the recovery gear necessary but on meeting people who had done it and making a few judgements of our own and listening to advice from a seasoned tour driver we chose to do what we thought would keep our car in one piece...and one we could return home in!

We arrived at this creek - Palm Creek - and decided "No way are we attempting this!"
We turned around and went on a bypass road.

Along the track are the famous Fruit Bat falls. We stopped here and
had a fantastic swim/bath. Brilliant!

No crocodiles here, thank goodness.

Brilliant swimming in the pool of the Falls.

The only other group of people at Fruit Bat Falls.
We chatted and one of the riders took our picture.

Chatting...and reminiscing about old days in Walkerville when
Chris had a bike too!!

Impressive.

Another angle of the Falls.

Getting ready to keep on riding.

Canal Creek. Chris and a fellow creek crosser walking the creek
to check the depth.

Making a plan.

We should do this with some back up!

Here Chris comes.

Good driving!

Our fellow creek crosser with a camper trailer as well.

Further along the OTT we turned onto the Elliot/Twin Falls road.
Many people don't get here as they don't manage the creek crossing.

These falls are also beautiful and people swim here.
We had run out of time as we had to get to the last ferry of the day
taking us over the Jardine river to the tip.

Young backpackers having a ball in the falls.

Another crossing.

Managed this one.

Photo makes it look a bit easier than what it is.

Oh dear.....what about this one??

A bit tricky here. The drop into the creek is steep and rough.
We will have to make our way around the steep drop.

Oh no.....

The track through the creek. Can we do this one??

I walked this creek in my panties to check the depth whilst Chris remained
perched on a ledge!! Pity he didn't have the camera ready as proof!

THIS one was tricky.

Made it through the creeks and on our way again.

The bypass road to the PDR and off the OTT.
